Kelcourse has my support

To the editor:

For the past 17 years I have been petitioning the state, in several departments, so that I may use the state ramp at the Salisbury State Reservation. This is for the sole purpose of creating a water taxi. My intent is to transport campers from the reservation to the City of Newburyport. From my perspective and that of numerous folks that I have been in contact with over the years, this should be a “no-brainer.”

The water taxi would help assist in cutting down on air pollution, elevate the pressure of auto traffic on Route 110, stimulate the economy and allow thousands of campers to use the facilities in Newburyport to do laundry, shop, go to a restaurant or just hang out.

In my quest for this endeavor, a shining knight has arrived: Rep. Jim Kelcourse.

In his short time in office he has had me in contact with many of the powers in state office. He has persevered on my behalf and on that of the communities that he represents.

The water taxi has some light down the tunnel; whether it comes to pass or not, only the future will tell. Dealing with the state is a long, arduous process; however, Rep. Kelcourse is doing his best to overcome the red tape. In the upcoming election he has my vote and I hope he has yours.
